Healing Garden

A garden that’s much more than pretty colors

Every client wants a beautiful garden, but this client’s need for beauty really touched my heart. We met by chance while she was on her morning walk and I was watering my front garden. She shared that she had had cancer and was approaching her one year NED (no evidence of disease) anniversary. To celebrate, she wanted to create a beautiful space which would help her move beyond the ugliness of battling the disease.

She wanted to remove the existing garden and replace it with a space of summer-long color she, her neighbors, and pollinators would enjoy. Oh yeah, and a bird bath to entertain her cats sitting in the front window. We were able to place all of that into a fairly small space and she looks forward to watching the garden mature over the next couple of years, while providing ongoing restorative power.
